Introduction

Tamás Varjasi was born in 1947 at Kustánszeg. Through his talents and experience is in the craft of leatherwork, he was able to develop new technical methods, enabling him to preserve the inherent beauty of leather and thus aid artistic expression. His works which include omarnental figures, interior designs, reliefs and small sculptures stand on the boundary of fine and decorative arts.

He has had 20 one-man shows and has often participated in collective exhibitions in many cities of Europe. A great number of his works can be found in private collections.

His name is linked with the faithful recreation of interiors, as well as leathercovered furnitures in historical buildings.
